Epidemiological Studies
Short studies / Epidemic investigation

w Each resident has to submit two short studies during his/her stay in the program, at least one of them should
preferably be an investigation of an epidemic, in accordance with the instructions given in relevant section in this
handbook.
w Resident has to submit the first short study by the end of first academic year i.e. 30th September, and 2nd study at
least 15 days before the final comprehensive examination in 2nd year.
w Each short study will be assessed against a total of 350 marks, with a pass percentage of 70%.
w Half of the total marks will be allocated to the supervisor of study for ongoing evaluation of the residents study
related activities (planning, field work, data analysis, report writing). While other half will be evaluated by the
examiner, assigned by the University, on the basis of report submitted. Detailed distribution of marks is given in the
relevant section.

Long Project

w During the training period, each resident has to submit one long project, in accordance with the instructions given
in the relevant section in this handbook.
w The last date of submission of long project is 15th September of 2nd academic year. In case of non-submission in
time the result of the resident will not be declared and in case resident is required to appear in the resit examination
he/she will not be allowed to do so. Such a candidate, may be granted a grace period of 3 months for submission of
final report, which will be subject to specific application by the candidate and approval of training committee.
w Long project will be assessed against a total of 400 marks, with a pass percentage of 70%.
w 50% of the total marks will be evaluated by the supervisor of study for ongoing evaluation of the residents study
related activities (planning, field work, data analysis, report writing). While other half will be evaluated by the
examiner, assigned by the University, on the basis of report submitted
